The 2011/12 Gridiron West Grand Final Is Here!

Pager item text:
Blitz vs Vipers

The two teams have been decided; Perth Blitz and the Rockingham Vipers. The same two who've met many times before in Gridiron West finals gone past. Historically though, only one has walked away with the victory. The Vipers.

Naturally, they will be looking for their fourth title on the trot and in doing so, will cement themselves as a giant in American Football in Western Australia. The Perth Blitz, however, will have something to say about that and have more than enough weapons at their disposal to make it a great competition on Saturday.

With the delay of a week past the regular schedule, it could be a blessing or a curse for both teams. After having enough time to heal the bodies brutalised by a tough Steelers semi-final, it could mean that those Blitz players who've been waiting that extra time could be lacking in the intensity needed at the start of the game. Adversely, any Vipers who suffered injuries during their semi-final game could find themselves runover by a fresh team of rested players.

It's all speculation at this point, no one knows the outcome and to be sure, players and fans in both camps will be leaning on their respective teams to bring home the trophy and the glory. Whether it be for the first time, or the fourth time consecutively.

The game is set to kick off at 6:00pm on Saturday evening on the 18th of February at the Kingsway Sporting Complex.  You can listen to the Blitz Coach's pregame interview on 990am here.

If you're a fan of gridiron, a fan of either team, an interested observer or new to the game. Please come on down and enjoy the atmosphere and fun as these two teams go to battle for the last time this season.
