A message from the Gridiron West board:

The Board of Gridiron West would like to extend our apologies to the members and fans of the Rockingham Vipers and Perth Broncos Clubs for the unforeseen technical difficulties which occurred on Saturday night during their semi-final matchup with 4:44 remaining in the fourth period.

As most would be aware the lights were shut off by the automatic system at 10:00PM unexpectedly and after multiple attempts to contact the council’s emergency number to get them turned back on it was decided by the officials to suspend the game indefinitely per NCAA Rule 3-3-3a.

Following NCAA Rule 3-3-3c the game outcome is then to be decided by League Policy. In this case, the Board has unanimously voted to declare the game a no contest in line with NCAA rules and replay the semi-final matchup between the Vipers and Broncos in full on Saturday, 11 FEB 2012 @ 6:00PM at the Kingsway Complex.

This change will result in the grand final game between the Perth Blitz and the winner of Saturday’s game to be postponed one week to 18 FEB 2012 @ 6:00PM at the Kingsway Complex.
